Shrine Kami

When Rei looked around for a gift to give to Meiko, he decided to exact revenge on her for eating his specialty cakes.  That's also when he remembered the one thing Meiko loathed the most.

Meiko hated being called a 'Kami' because of her powers.

So he got her a 'Shrine Kami' outfit - a knockoff of the Miko outfits worn at the temple, thinking it was appropriate and sounded like her name.

When she asked him about it, seething with rage, he lied that Reiko had chosen it for her.
And with that in her mind, she reluctantly wore it for her daughter's love, unaware of the real purpose behind it.

And sadly, as she wore it around, crowds flocked to her seeking wishes to be granted.
